SPS Preschool
At SPS we believe that all children grow and develop at different rates through different learning styles. Children are given the opportunity to explore, create, and problem solve with materials that are developmentally appropriate.
Classroom activities are based on a play and task-learning atmosphere where children are taught basic concepts through the use of games, puzzles, manipulatives, art, and other hands-on experiences.
Our theme-based curriculum allows our teachers to develop unique and creative learning environments. Lesson plans are developed according to specific, age-appropriate objectives addressing the whole child with the goal of establishing a foundation for learning to last a lifetime.
2026-27 Preschool Registration is now open!
Extracurricular Activities
We are pleased to offer a variety of after-school activities for our SPS children. Activities including tap-ballet classes, soccer, yoga, LEGO club, and chess club are offered to our preschool and grade school students.
Show-and-Tell
SPS is committed to building each child’s self-esteem and helping them develop verbal skills. Show-and-Tell is designed to facilitate growth in these two critical areas. Preschool teachers will communicate their Show-and-Tell schedules after school has begun.
Sharing Programs &
Family Meals
It is SPS’s tradition to invite our families several times each year to participate in school wide events, including class parties, holiday performances, music programs, potluck lunches, and family breakfasts.
Literacy
SPS invites special guests to come as "mystery readers", and favorite book characters often come for a visit! We celebrate Read Across America Month with a reading marathon and special guest readers, host a Read-A-Thon, and have two book fairs per year!
